Arctic Monkeys 09.09.13
The boys from Sheffield have announced the release of their new album titled, "AM", scheduled for release 09.09.13. Alex Turner mentioned numerous times that the new album will sound a lot more like their last single "R U Mine" and that is clear when you listen to their new tune "Do I Wanna Know?" just below.

New Music Monday: Queens of the Stone Age.
This is the most anticipated album of 2013 without a doubt. Queens of the Stone Age have been teasing us the past few months with bits and pieces of their upcoming epic; "Like Clockwork", but now they really gave us something to enjoy. I'm going to shut up now.

Nyjah Huston Takes X-Games Barecelone Gold.
Back when we saw Nyjah Huston skate Tampa Pro in March; we noticed how focused and composed he approached all of his runs. He stood out from the beginning and he proved to everyone once again how good he really is. Congrats Nyjah, P-Rod and Manny.
Zoo York Skates Yankee Stadium.
The Zoo York skate team got an exclusive pass to the world famous Yankee Stadium and showed us once again why they "own" New York city.

The Awesomeness That Is Jack White.
I can't really decide who's cooler; Jack White or Dave Grohl?
The 1947 Voice-o-Graph is the only public vinyl record recording booth in the world. 111 seconds of audio can be recorded in the booth and the audio is cut to a six-inch phonograph disc.
A host of fans queued at the Third Man Records store in Nashville to use the booth during Record Store Day. I sent some of my friends out in Nashville to go and record their next Grammy winning song but I haven't heard anything yet. Maybe it didn't go so well.
Even Neil Young stood in line like a true fan to record a song. Now that's what I call music.

Kilian Martin: India Within.
I said it before and I will say it again; "Kilian Martin is the modern day Rodney Mullen". Kilian and his good friend, writer / director / producer / Full Sail grad, Brett Novak traveled to India to shoot another one of their visual skating short stories. I followed them on Instagram while they were shooting this and just from that I couldn't wait to see what the outcome was going to be. We have an answer now, so sit back, put your volume up high and enjoy the beauty of skating.
NIKE SB Eric Koston 2.
While we were at the Tampa Pro in March we got a sneak peek at the new NIKE SB Eric Koston 2's. Eric skated the Tampa Pro in his super limited all pink 2's and only Eric Koston can pull them off so well. I mean its pink... a few years ago even, someone would have chopped my head off for wearing pink... but Eric Koston can.

Tampa Pro 2013.
The PG crew finally made it out to the Tampa Pro 2013 at the legendary Skatepark of Tampa. Luan Oliveira put on a hell of a show but he had it close with Nyjah Huston and his arsenal of tricks while Chaz did his usual rapid fire assault on the course. Paul Rodriguez, Austyn Gillette, Sean Malto, and the rest of the finalists were all killing it. Check out the photos below.

Record Store Day 2013.
Ladies and gentleman, I give you Jack White; Record Store Day 2013 Ambassador.
"Years ago someone told me that 1,200 high school kids were given a survey. A question was posed to them: Have you ever been to a stand-alone record shop? The number of kids that answered "yes" was... zero.
Zero? How could that be possible? Then I got realistic and thought to myself, "Can you blame them?" How can record shops (or any shop for that matter) compete with Netflix, TiVo, video games that take months to complete, cable, texting, the Internet, etc. etc? Getting out of your chair at home to experience something in the real world has started to become a rare occurrence, and to a lot of people, an unnecessary one. Why go to a bookstore and get a real book? You can just download it. Why talk to other human beings, discuss different authors, writing styles and influences? Just click your mouse. Well here's what they'll someday learn if they have a soul; there's no romance in a mouse click. There's no beauty in sitting for hours playing video games (anyone proud of that stop reading now and post your opinion in the nearest forum). The screen of an iPhone is convenient, but it’s no comparison to a 70mm showing of a film in a gorgeous theater. The Internet is two-dimensional…helpful and entertaining, but no replacement for face-to-face interaction with a human being. But we all know all of that, right? Well, do we? Maybe we know all that, but so what?
Let's wake each other up.
The world hasn't stopped moving. Out there, people are still talking to each other face-to-face, exchanging ideas and turning each other on. Art houses are showing films, people are drinking coffee and telling tall tales, women and men are confusing each other and record stores are selling discs full of soul that you haven’t felt yet. So why do we choose to hide in our caves and settle for replication? We know better. We should at least. We need to re-educate ourselves about human interaction and the difference between downloading a track on a computer and talking to other people in person and getting turned onto music that you can hold in your hands and share with others. The size, shape, smell, texture and sound of a vinyl record; how do you explain to that teenager who doesn't know that it's a more beautiful musical experience than a mouse click? You get up off your ass, you grab them by the arm and you take them there. You put the record in their hands. You make them drop the needle on the platter. Then they'll know.
Let's wake each other up.
As Record Store Day Ambassador of 2013 I’m proud to help in any way I can to invigorate whoever will listen with the idea that there is beauty and romance in the act of visiting a record shop and getting turned on to something new that could change the way they look at the world, other people, art, and ultimately, themselves.

Trailer Tuesday - The Internship
Ever since the success of Wedding Crashers with the amazing acting duo, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, we all hoped for Wedding Crashers 2 or even Funeral Crashers, but we got something better; a completely new script with our old friends.
The Internship will hit theaters June 7th in the US and will be one of the must see summer movies for sure. I hope the trailer didn't spoil too much (you know, that's what trailers usually do) but nonetheless it's worth checking out.

New Music Monday - Moving House
We first featured Moving House in our Best of 2012 report as Best New Artist and Most Anticipated Album of 2013. But now the wait is over folks; Moving House has released their self-titled debut album. I spoke to lead singer and founding member, Andre Gideon Montgomery Pienaar (I know it's a mouthful) recently and he said the response has been overwhelming and very positive all around. Not even his iPhone's battery could stand the attention the day of release and died on him very quickly.
Their story reminds me of The Postal Service; since Andre (right) and Rob (left) live on opposite sides of South Africa they used the country's amazing bandwidth (sarcasm) to send each other tracks they worked on.
A long with their debut album you can also check out their debut music video directed by the very talented Andre Gideon Montgomery Pienaar.

The music quality coming from the South African music scene has been on point looking back on the past few years and proving to everyone that they can run with 'big boys' in the world of music. We are going to see many more great things come from Moving House and we can not wait to see what they are going to do next.
