Quiksilver All 80's All Day - Orlando, Florida.

So back in 2007 I had the privilege to assist the great Tony Hawk on his Boom Boom Huck Jam Tour. That year the tour consisted of greats like:
Skateboard: Tony Hawk, Kevin Staab, Jason Ellis, Jesse Fritsch & Sergie Ventura
BMX: Kevin Robinson
FMX: Drake Mcelroy, Greg Garrison, Matt Buyten
It was one of the best moments of my life working with these greats and recently I got to relive it but back in the 80's...

A flash back to the glory days of skateboarding when bright colors and big boards ruled the Vert ramp. Quiksilver gave me another opportunity to relive some of my favorite 80's tricks done by some of the best Skaters from the 80's. This wasn't a contest for the groms, this was a contest for the long time skateboarder to remember what the old days used to be like. Each skater competing in the contest took the opportunity to wear their favorite 80's gear as they took turn shredding vert ramp.

The event took place at Surf Expo in Orlando, FL

These are some of the pics I took...

Tony's board got inducted into the Smithsonian Museum right after the event.

Proof // Hand-Made Wood Eyewear

Personally I'm stoked for this new line of eyewear to drop. Proof makes quality hand-made sunglasses that look amazing. These new shades look great but there's also a good cause behind the brand. Proof will donate a large portion of their sales to organizations that they feel are doing BIG things in the world to help make it a better place. Kinda reminds me of TOMS Shoes, for every pair purchased TOMS will give a pair to a child in need. TOMS was one of the first brands to incorporate social responsibility and it's exciting to see new companies doing the same thing from the get go.

Read more on these amazing shades as there's a lot more to the materials they use and the causes they're fighting.

Proof shades will go on sale January 31st, 2011.

Purple Gorilla 2011

Happy new year! Ya I'm 10 days late, sue me. My friend Mr. Johnny Cupcakes had a great business idea for new years, "Biz idea! Gonna get an ice cream truck & call it the Tylenol Truck. I'll be the savior for holiday hangovers!" Genius, all I can say. I know I would have liked it.

Got a lot planned for PG this year. The designers and I are brainstorming like crazy. I'm very excited to bring you the new PG look soon. Keep posted!

Merhaba Salem Istanbul

On my way to South Africa I made a little stop in the beautiful city of Istanbul. I've been to more countries in Europe then I can remember but I've always wanted to visit Turkey. I had no idea what to expect but the people were very hospitable and kind. Even though no one I encountered spoke English very well; I used my caveman skills and got around with hand signals. Here are a few pics of my adventures.

They really like cats in Turkey, they were everywhere!
