The First Purple Gorilla T-Shirt, Commercial & Website Update

After months of hard work and sleepless nights, the first Purple Gorilla shirt is in sight. Together with my good friend, Shawn Golden, we completed the design process and we're ready for print. The shirt will be known as "Series 1" and I can assure you only a limited number of these shirts will be printed. I will keep you updated as we get closer to launch. If you'd like to put your name down for pre-order, that will guarantee you a shirt, please e-mail me your name and contact details to purplegorilla@mail.com

I am also planning to shoot the first Purple Gorilla commercial next month that will feature the new t-shirt design. Together with film, design and business students from Full Sail University, combining their talents, you can expect one hell of a video. More details on that to come as well.

While we're launching the shirt and commercial, you can also expect the new Purple Gorilla website. It will be the first step to a fully functional Purple Gorilla website. The PG domain will be www.purplegorilla.co so I suggest you start bookmarking!

SO, as you can see, lots of things are happening here at the Purple Gorilla ranch and I can't wait to share it with you.

A Zebra With Imagination

After a long wait and image teasers, The Imaginary Zebra launched Series 4 of their T-Shirt range. Benson Chou did another amazing job creating 6 unique, clean designs known as TIZ. I've been following Benson's clothing line since it started and it was about time I got my hands on a few shirts. I've got to know Benson via Social Media and exchanging our passion for photography, art and fashion. Benson is very personable with his customers and you can tell how much passion he has for what he does. With my shirt purchase, Benson even included this personal note and drawing of the new Purple Gorilla logo. No other clothing brand out there will do something like this!

Who knows, maybe you'll see a Purple Gorilla x Imaginary Zebra collaboration in the near future...

Here's a look at Series 4 available now at theimaginaryzebra.com

aKING - Catch Alight Music Video

South African rockers, aKING recently launched their brand new music video "Catch Alight". This is the second video from their brand new album, The Red Blooded Years. The video was made by Graphic Superhouse, Am I Collective in collaboration with Egg Films (Kevin Fitzgerald & Jon Ronbeck) and Cosmesis Prosthetics Studio. The video plays off in a sketchy hotel and involves action, blood and sexual content.
Enjoy.

TOMS - No Longer Only A Shoe Company

Blake Mycoskie is on the forefront of Social Entrepreneurship.

Blake Mycoskie is the owner and chief shoe giver (CEO) of Toms Shoes, a shoe company based out of Santa Monica. California. But it’s this company’s message that makes it so unique. For every pair of shoes purchased, Toms gives a pair to a child in need, that’s where the companies slogan comes in play; One For One.

While vacationing in Argentina, back in 2006, Blake volunteered to help a charity hand out basic amenities to the people and specifically shoes. He thought to himself that there must be an easier way to get shoes to these people. So the next day he started thinking what if you bought a pair and with that you can make a small profit and still give a pair back? Thus Toms Shoes was born.

SO over 1 million pairs of shoes later, TOMS is moving forward in a new direction... eyewear. The infographic below explains exactly how it works:

TOMS is proving once again how far social responsibility can go and encouraging other companies to do the same. Here at Purple Gorilla I am going to do the same; incorporate social responsibility.
