New Music Monday - Moving House

We first featured Moving House in our Best of 2012 report as Best New Artist and Most Anticipated Album of 2013. But now the wait is over folks; Moving House has released their self-titled debut album. I spoke to lead singer and founding member, Andre Gideon Montgomery Pienaar (I know it's a mouthful) recently and he said the response has been overwhelming and very positive all around. Not even his iPhone's battery could stand the attention the day of release and died on him very quickly.

Their story reminds me of The Postal Service; since Andre (right) and Rob (left) live on opposite sides of South Africa they used the country's amazing bandwidth (sarcasm) to send each other tracks they worked on.

The music quality coming from the South African music scene has been on point looking back on the past few years and proving to everyone that they can run with 'big boys' in the world of music.
